Arcules doesn’t refer to its employees as merely that. They’re the Arcules Superheroes. And Regional Sales Manager Julie McGregor falls squarely into this category. As a mom of four (yes, FOUR) kids, she still manages to bring the best to work with her each and every day, signing up partners, working with customers and being a positive influence in the lives of her team members.

But don’t take our word for it. See for yourself:

How would you describe your role at Arcules? What are you responsible for?

As a Regional Sales Manager, my primary responsibility is to work hand-in-hand with our valued partners, to both help them understand why there’s a drive by the end user today for cloud services, but to also provide them with the best cloud solution possible to meet those customer’s needs.

Tell us a little about your background.

I’ve been in the security and surveillance industry for more than 12 years, and I really feel fortunate to have been involved in most all aspects of the channel. From integrator, to manufacturer’s rep, distribution, and manufacturing, I’ve had the opportunity to provide solutions that include cameras, analytics, access control, video monitoring, cloud, and more.

How do you describe the Arcules platform to potential customers and partners?

It’s easy to draw the assumption that we merely provide a hosted VMS solution, when in fact that’s not the case at all. We are truly unique to the industry in that we deliver a Unified Cloud Security Platform, an engine of sorts, that is both open and able to receive input from all kinds of sensors on the network to respond in real time with meaningful data, and in a proactive way.

What kinds of projects are you involved in on a daily/weekly basis?

When I first started in my position here at Arcules, I assumed there would be common projects and markets, at a minimum an ability to identify with specific verticals with which to focus my energy. However, what I’ve learned is that the need for an open cloud platform in the security arena is attractive to nearly all end users across the globe. There are so many who are looking to solve the same kinds of challenges; businesses today want to improve their ability to solve problems in the most efficient way, while minimizing their own resources. I’m involved with projects that span several verticals and applications, from K-12 schools to entertainment… It’s truly an exciting market to be in where each day brings new opportunities to engage with projects of all kinds.

And the more fun questions…

Do you have any hobbies or interests?

Yes, of course! First and foremost, I’m a mother to four amazing children who range in age from 13-21. (They’re my greatest interest and “hobby.”) Outside of that, I’ve been an avid horseback rider since I can remember. I’m disciplined in everything from hunter jumpers to dressage, but my ultimate passion is simply heading down the trail with a beer in the saddlebag.

What is one thing that your co-workers might not know about you?

Well I’m a pretty open book so most of what might surprise others my co-workers already know; however, I’m pretty sure none of them know I lived in Guam for a period of time, I’ve met with and had lunch with The President of the United States, and I’ve never gotten a tattoo and never will.

Tell us about the last book you read and the last movie you watched.

The last book I finished was The Four Agreements, and the last movie was The Big Year. Both were excellent!
